We will always remember Maria as a wonderful neighbour. For the last 15 years we lived next door and she felt like a caring ‘Nonna’ for Orient Street. She became Peter’s ‘phone buddy’, often making him pizza and her special cookies if he did little chores for him. She was living proof of the positive cultural contribution the Australian migration program makes to our society.
