A special condolence message to Carole, Madeline and Monique for the loss of your husband and Dad. Likewise to Robin, Helen, Maureen and Anne Marie for the loss of your amazing brother. I recall my Mum, (your Auntie Helen) had numerous fond memories she shared of John. I was hoping to get over but Covid got the better of me on Saturday.

To Madeleine & Monique and all the family members, feeling great sadness today, and thinking of you all saying the last farewells to John. Our warmest thoughts are with you all as our minds rerun all those happy, mad and sometimes sad times we’d shared with you in spirit. From Uncle Eck and Aunty Ann and families.
We are so very saddened to hear of John’s sudden passing. His intelligence, humour and devotion to his family will be greatly missed. Thinking of you Carole, Madeleine, Monique and your family. Love Jacqui, Julian, Tali and Henry.

My interest in the McDonell family was always focused on the females. John fully understood that, but from the outset never hesitated to generously offer his friendship, and advice on how to play my hand in the highest-stakes game. We became brothers, and he was my solid friend, through everything. He was a good man, and I miss him.
